I need your help in doing something that's a lot of fun and has the potential to put more SMART Boards in the classroom.
I would like to help school administrators better understand why teachers love using SMART Boards in the classroom. The more informed they are about the benefits of having a SMART Board in the classroom, the more likely they are to start putting SMART Boards in the classroom.
A Wallwisher is a special web page that allows anyone to add their own comments. It's fun, it's easy, and in this situation, it can be an extremely valuable resource to help convince administration to purchase more SMART Boards.
If you're a teacher who loves their SMART Board, then please go to the "Why SMART Boards?" Wallwisher and write a short comment about why you think SMART Boards are such a valuable tool to have in the classroom. To use the Wallwisher, just double-click anywhere there is an open space. You can also edit, move, or undo your comments.
I am going to create a new page on Teachers Love SMART Boards
that contains information about the effectiveness of SMART Boards in
the classroom. The first addition to that page will be this personalized Wallwisher.
Teachers who want a SMART Board in their classroom also need to be
pro-active. They need to take the lead and help demonstrate to their
administration that having a SMART Board in the classroom and learning
how to use it effectively to improve learning is an investment that just can't wait.
Please help me in creating this resource and remember…
Sharing Is Caring!

Why not SMART boards? SMART Notebook. In fact any IWB software. It is utterly shameful compared to proper software. You will not be productive or inspirational with your new tool using this software.
John,
I must say that you seem to be extremely angry, and your comments do nothing to help teachers utilize IWBs more effectively. I have hundreds upon hundreds of examples of teachers using Notebook to create engaging and effective lessons. I also have hundreds upon hundreds of testimonials from teachers about how easy it is to create custom interactive applications using Notebook. These facts alone disprove your comment about “You will not be productive or inspirational.”
If you want to have a intelligent and meaningful discussion on IWB software, that’s fine. However, you would need to define the term “proper software” and you would need to provide supporting information about your comments.
Regards,
Jim
