Teaching with SMARTBoard Video Podcast Those wacky guys over at Teaching With SMARTBoard have a wonderful gift for their video podcast viewers this holiday season.
Each week, Scott and Dave create a fun and informative video podcast that demonstrates how to use your SMART Board and Smart Notebook more effectively. Their videos have a Math emphasis but much of the information can be applied to other subject areas.
A big thanks goes out to Anne Marie over at Talking SMARTBoards & Much More who found a great site called Cash Out that helps kids count money to make change. This application works great on the SMARTBoard since the kids can simply touch on the pictures to make change. I also like that it has a real word problem that needs to be solved.
I have three sites related to Mathematics that work great on your SMARTBoard Interactive Whiteboard. These sites get my official “WOW” and they need to be in every teacher’s arsenal of resources.
I love solving the riddles, especially when they have a Mathematics twist. Here’s a really fun application to play on your SMARTBoard interactive whiteboard called “The Decanting Puzzle.” It’s a wonderful flash game that let’s you solve 6 different riddles related to filling and emptying jugs to come up with the right amount of water. The problem is that the jugs don’t having any markings on them. All you know is their capacity.
I decided to re-visit Learning Planet to see what they were up to. While not much has changed, they do have some fun activities that work great with the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and are free to use. You can click on the pictures below to go directly to the grade level you’re interested in.
I have two wonderful tools for teachers to use with their Smartboard interactive whiteboard related to plotting points.
For teachers looking for a fun way to use the SMARTBoard to help teach Algebra concepts, why not have your students create their own instruction videos.
Videopodcast I definitely don’t post enough about my favorite video podcast called Teaching With SMARTBoard.
If you’re looking to increase your knowledge of Smartboards and learn great ways of using SmartBoards and Notebook in the classroom, this is the best resource available. Dave and Scott always have great tips for enhancing your lessons and using Notebook in ways that you’ve probably never thought of before.
I really like this idea of putting website resources in a fun little slideshow to share with other people. Here Karen Brooks puts together a slideshow that has a whole bunch of cool websites with interactive activities for Math and Science.
