Why SMARTBoards? See What Teachers Have To Say
I’ve put all the comments from the Why SMART Boards? Wallwisher into a PDF document so it is easy to print and share with your administrators.

I would like to help school administrators better understand why teachers love using SMART Boards in the classroom. The more informed they are about the benefits of having a SMART Board in the classroom, the more likely they are to move closer to putting more SMART Boards in the classroom.
I thought I would provide listeners with a brief overview of the new Smart Exchange that has just been released in beta by Smart Technologies. The new Smart Exchange allows teachers to find and share resources for the SMART Board quickly and easily. I also share a fun Notebook file based on the game of Tic-Tac-Toe. Teachers can customize the game and can even save their customized games to the Gallery.
One of the great features of the Smart Notebook software is that it allows you to play a sound by clicking on an object. This is a great feature to have and it really adds to the overall effectiveness of a lesson if used appropriately.I especially like using sound in conjunctions with animation to provide an additional form of feedback to the students.
The answer is that I don’t use Twitter to let people know what I’m doing. I use Twitter to connect with teachers. I Tweet about great Smartboard resources; I “Re-Tweet” (pass along someone else’s Tweet) when someone shares something interesting; I update teachers with the status of my blog and my podcast; and I share information about Smartboard Professional Development. I occasionally Tweet something that I think is humorous to help with the daily stress of teaching.
In this podcast, we each share one of our favorite websites for the SMART Board. Harvey begins his “magic” theme by discussing the site The Magic Gopher and I talk about one of my favorite websites that displays a life size blue whale floating by you as you watch in amazement. It’s a great site to watch and interact with on your SMART Board.
Harvey Almarode and Jim Hollis each share one of their favorite websites for the SMART Board. Harvey reveals how to create amazing characters using the site Build Your Wild Self and Jim shares a fun site called The Eyeballing Game that lets students make adjustments to various geometries to try to make them perfect.
In this situation, I used #iwbspanish as the hashtag (you can use anything) to collect these suggestions. Since all the recommendations use the #iwbspanish hashtag, all you need to do search on #iwbspanish in Twitter to see all the Tweets where people shared their Spanish resources. How unbelievably cool is that! Most of the resources that I shared work great on the SMART Board.
To keep my skills fine-tuned, I thought I would send out a Tweet (Twitter message) to my Smartboard followers to see if anyone needed a fun Notebook application for their classroom.
Twittericon I’m following some great people on Twitter who seem to understand the concept of “Sharing is Caring!”
Here are five great web resources that work great on the SMART Board. I discovered all of these on Twitter and passed them along (retweet) to the people who follow me.
