After all these years, Starfall continues to be the leader in providing high quality and engaging reading activities that work great on the SMART Board. Not only that, students will love being able to use the same activities and resources at home.
Here’s a fun vocabulary review Notebook lesson called “Search For the North Pole” which challenges students to find three elf symbols that will unlock the entrance to the North Pole.
The Christmas-themed lesson contains three vocabulary activities (alphabetical sort, word search, and definition) that students complete to find one of the lost elf symbols. Once they get all three symbols, they place them in the correct order to unlock the entrance to the North Pole. The lesson uses the following words: candle, chimney, decoration, present, ornament, and tinsel.
The BBC has a wonderful interactive site called The Magic Key based on the Oxford Reading Tree learning program. The site contains nine literacy “adventures” for children that all work great with the SMARTBoard Interactive Whiteboard.
The courses on Teacher Online Training are so easy to complete and they really are a lot of fun. Teachers have completed well over 1200 courses on Teacher Online Training and they have recommended the courses over 99.7% of the time. That’s a lot better than 4 out of 5 dentists!
To keep my skills fine-tuned, I thought I would send out a Tweet (Twitter message) to my Smartboard followers to see if anyone needed a fun Notebook application for their classroom.
This course will guide participants in creating an interactive application for the SMART Board using Smart Notebook 10 that allows the user to touch a button to reveal individual steps in a multi-step process.
This course is self-paced and teachers can take as long as they need to complete the course objectives. Upon completion, teachers receive a Certificate of Completion for 90 minutes of Professional Development credit.
