Keeping in theme, I thought I would share a two resources. The first is one of the most beautiful videos I’ve seen called “What A Wonderful World With David Attenborough.” It’s a video produced by the BBC One channel and it’s absolutely mesmerizing.
When I posted this video on Facebook, I mentioned that “it’s okay to watch videos on the SMART Board.” I also clarified that when you do decide to use the SMART Board as a group instruction tool to watch videos, the videos should be short and broken into manageable chunks so the information can be processed and used effectively.
I also thought it would be fun to create a supporting spreadsheet that contained a list of all the animals found in the video. Teachers could use this list in a variety of ways to create a meaningful learning situation. I want to thank all the teachers who helped identify the animals in the video. Everyone is welcome to use the spreadsheet and I encourage you to make any changes or additions to enhance the quality and usefulness of this resource.
Using the information from the spreadsheet, you could break the class into small groups and create a scavenger hunt activity to identify as many types of animals as possible.
Please share your own ideas for using this video and/or the supporting spreadsheet in the classroom.
Sharing Is Caring!
